Reading the cave

The flame is your clock. It burns whether you move or not. Running burns it faster; crawling, slower.

Kindling lies on the path — small bundles worth +10s. Resin caches glow brighter and hide in the side pockets.

The painted words mark the way of the dead. UP means onward and higher. LOW means crawl. GAP means stones over the dark. LOOK means search this pocket. LIGHT means you are close.

Moving air comes from outside. When the flame leans and gutters, the way out lies downwind. When all is still, you are deep.

A fall costs fuel, not your life. Climb back up and keep moving. When the flame dies you have twelve seconds of embers — find light or the dark takes you.
